Do you love Jesus and working with children and their parents? Give us a call. This is an amazing part-time job opportunity overseeing children’s ministry made up of students from local primary schools. This position will be trained by staff and supported by a team of adult volunteers. Approximately 15-20 hours a week.

Entrepreneurial - Vision to lead and grow ministry with children and families who live in the Anthony Wayne School District.
Enjoy Working with Students and Parents - Will lead the ministry and a team of volunteers.
Heart for getting students plugged into the local church.

Member of a local church.
College degree preferred.

Contact Work (no less than 10 hours per week)

Because kids (and their parents) don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care, Hope UMC is looking for someone who will show kids they care by going where kids are, meeting them as they are, and believing in who they can be. Within ministry with children and youth we call the persistent going out into the world of kids "contact work," but kids just call it friendship.
Work with our Child Care Director and staff to meet children and their parents when they are on our church campus. (approximately five hours per week)
Work with Cub Scout Pack 97 to meet scouts and their parents when they are on our church campus. (approximately 2 hours per week during the school year)
Attend events off campus where our church families are involved: soccer, baseball, softball, recitals, etc. (approximately 2-3 hours per week)
Help start and lead All Pro Dads https://www.allprodad.com/ at Whitehouse, Monclova, and Waterville Primary Schools. (approximately 6-8 hours per month)
Increase presence in community by participating in Whitehouse area events, like downtown trick-or-treat, and Cherry Fest.
Follow-up with and re-engage inactive families.
Plan and lead informational gatherings for parents.

Sunday Morning (4 hours per week; 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Assist NextGEN Team in planning and implementing meaningful, Christ-centered age appropriate study and fun

Recruit, Train, and Retain Volunteers (2-3 hours per week)
Meet (at least) monthly with NextGEN Team
Update Safe Sanctuary training annually
Plan and lead volunteer appreciation event(s)

Part-time: Approximately 20 hours per week
Pay:  Competitive and depends on the experience of the candidate
