Position Objective
The Director of Children’s and Family Ministries is a coordinator position that oversees the ministries with Children and Families. This person will recruit, equip, and empower ministry leaders and teams and collaboratively implement the church’s mission/values/vision/strategy. Overall objectives include connecting and building relationships with children and their families in our congregation and the neighboring communities; developing and guiding ministries that will help children grow and mature in their faith; Connecting and building partnerships with the local schools that will support and encourage the families of children in elementary school and younger; and identifying, training, and deploying leaders and volunteers who can build relationships and disciple children and their families.

Current Areas of Responsibilities
The current areas of responsibilities include Recruiting Leaders for Sunday morning ministries and other Children’s ministries; Developing or finding curriculum that will support the mission, vision, and values of MUMC; Providing leadership for the Family Ministry Team; Supervising the Nursery Coordinator; Planning, developing, and implementing outreach events such as VBS, Fall Event, Christmas Eve Family Worship, etc.; Work as a part of the staff team with other staff members; Keeping records that will help us track the spiritual development of children and families; and developing ministries that will help the church reach children and families that we are currently not reaching.

Reports to Lead Pastor and Staff Parish Relations Committee
Time Commitment - 20 – 30 hours per week
Previous Experience preferred but not required
