Join the Maumee Watershed District this fall in Appalachia!
We have two mission opportunities in the Appalachia area, one with the Christian Appalachia Project (CAP) and the other at Henderson Settlement. See more details below:
September 30 - October 5, 2018
CAP is an organization which builds hope, transforms lives, and shares in Christs love through service projects in Appalachia, learn more about them here. No particular skill level is required for this mission trip! A willingness to go, serve and be tired at the end of the day is what we are looking for in a volunteer. The work may include, but is not limited to, remodeling an existing home by repairing the floors and walls, hanging dry wall, replacing doors and windows, putting up vinyl siding, repairing roofs, etc. As usual, our mission will also be about building relationships with the people we will be serving. Cost is $365, with a $50 downpayment due by June 15. A registration flyer is attached below.
October 21- October 27, 2018
You are invited to participate in the MWD mission trip to Henderson Settlement will be October 21 through 27! On Sunday, October 21 the team will travel to Henderson, returning on Saturday, October 27. As we get closer to the travel dates we will make some decisions around carpooling to share expenses. Cost of the mission is $295 (included in $295 is a registration fee of $25 due August 11) which covers meals and housing while at Henderson, (but not meals and gas driving down and back.) Our work will be determined later this summer into early fall. Registration will be set up on line in the next several weeks. For more information,bethelfam4 [at] att.net ( email Kathy Bethel).
